Description
18th century, one goblet with flared cylindrical bowl engraved on both sides with Cupid within a cartouche, the two joined by strapwork, on vari baluster twisted stem enclosing gold flecked red twisted threads, circular foot engraved with strapwork, one with a putto on each side in a field reserved within a Baroque cartouche issuing foliate scrolls, the third engraved with flowering scrolls, repeating baluster stem, red twisted threads, circular foot, tallest 10-1/8 in.
Provenance: Two goblets from Christie's Sale 2393, Lot 196, 27 January 2010, with another sold for $2,000; The Estate of Peter H. Tillou, Litchfield, Connecticut
