Description
An antique late 19th-century American tall cut glass vase with a sterling silver neck. The narrow waist of the vase and the neat decorative relief on the silver relates this item to the Art Nouveau style. Engraved initials PBS on the neck. Hallmarks: Sterling Silver, 525 Fine, 7139. The unicorn hallmark refers to the Mauser Manufacturing Company which was established in 1887 and then merged into the Mt. Vernon Company Silversmiths in 1913. Antique American Silver And Glass Items. Provenance: Anna Feltsman Estate. Feltsman family: Oscar Feltsman 1921-2013 was a Russian Ukrainian-born composer of Lithuanian Jewish descent. He was the father of Vladimir Feltsman, born in 1952 a Russian-American classical pianist. Anna Feltsman was the first wife of Vladimir Feltsman.
