A watercolor and pencil painting of a Young Boeotian Costume design for the ballet Narcissus, 1911, attributed to Leon Bakst, Russian, Belarussian, 1866 to 1924. Leon Samoilovich Bakst was a Belarusian and Russian artist of Jewish origin, set designer and illustrator, who worked mainly in St. Petersburg and Paris. Member of the association Mir Iskusstva, theatrical and artistic projects of S. P. Diaghilev, one of the trendsetters of European fashion for exoticism and orientalism at the beginning of the 20th century.
