Jade Libation Cup
China, late Ming-style, with an undulating mouth rim and a geometric handle, decorated with incised designs around mouth rim and handle, white stone with russet inclusions, with conforming wood stand, ht. 1 1/2, wd. 3 7/8 in.

Provenance: A family heirloom collection mostly formed in the 1900-20s by Dr. Frederick Whiting (1821-1946). Dr. Whiting was a philanthropic otologist/professor of Clinical Surgery in Otology at Cornell University who authored the book, Modern Mastoid Operation. He was also known as a collector of American painting, medallic art, and Asian porcelain.
