Description
A very unusual lantern made by Dietz is their "#39 Vulcan" model with twist-off base. H. S. Kerbaugh was a bridge contractor that dates back to the early 1900's. Kerbaugh was famous for their Conestoga River bridge which was Pennsylvania Railroad trackage. The lid is stamped "HSK Inc" and the Dietz #39 Vulcan globe is etched "H.S.K. INC" etched in block lettering. Attached is a brass tool tag with the Kerbaugh name and a 4 digit serial number. This type of tag was used to identify which employee was using the lantern at any given point in time. I didn't know Phil SImms had this lantern and a "must have" for the lantern collector who thinks they have everything. Great condition.
