Tourmaline, Gilt-Metal Bead Necklace. Featuring one carved pink tourmaline pendant measuring approximately 40 x 35 mm and depicting a dragon perched on a rock, suspended from a strand of faceted and tumbled pink, green and watermelon tourmaline beads, interspersed by gilt-metal beads, completed by a gilt-metal clasp, forming a 22 inch necklace. Accompanied by extra beads. {Gross Weight: 46.0 dwts} Provenance: From the Estate of June Culp Zeitner. Author of nine gem and mineral books and has written nearly a thousand articles. Ms. Zeitner is the founder of over a dozen gem and mineral clubs, the National Rockhound and Lapidary Hall of Fame and the State Stone Program. Zeitner was crowned First Lady of Gems and received a Bicentennial tiara at the White House. Among her many achievements, Zeitner assembled a collection of 1,309 gemstones for the Smithsonian and had the largest gem emerald found in the USA named after her; "The Zeitner Emerald."
