A Charles II joined oak and spindle-filled mural food cupboard
Circa 1680, North Wales, possibly Merionethshire
With a central door flanked by open panels, all filled with rows of multiple baluster-turned fruitwood spindles within a lip-moulded framework, twin-panelled sides, the single internal shelf cut-away to the centre in a broad semi-circle, 130.5cm wide x 44cm deep x 55cm high, (51in wide x 17in deep x 21 1/2in high)

Condition
Cornice professionally replaced. Possible further replacements to base mouldings, but they do have merit.
Each side has a later strip applied to the rear back upright - both appear added to cover the projecting backboards when the cupboard is hung.
Some repairs /replacement backboards.
Sympathetically replaced hinges.
Later key-hole to door, lacking lock.
Some of the base boards well-replaced.

The cupboard is quite deep and the uprights quite substantial - possibity that the cupbaord may have originally had a framed stand, or that the uprights extended to form stiles???

Reasonable colour and finish.

General losses and wear in accordance with age and use.
