The La Poya limited edition pays tribute to the original celebration of the springtime ascent of the mountain pastures. Every spring, the greenery of the alpine pastures attracts herds of cows to the celebration known as the spring ascent to the mountain pastures. It takes place during the spring ascent to the pastures where they spend their summer. This term, which originated in Freiburg, describes the long procession of cows and carts loaded with the equipment needed to collect milk and make cream and cheese in the mountains. The cows are decorated with flowers and bells on leather strips embroidered with edelweiss, and the name of the owner of each herd, dressed in new traditional clothing, leads the procession. The façades of the Alpine chalets are adorned with painted or carved wooden friezes, depicting the joyful procession ascents.
The master craftsman at Maison Caran d'Ache has transcribed the language of traditional sculpture into a delicate relief that covers the entire body of the writing instrument. Processions, the frieze carved in rhodium-plated solid silver recalls the art of traditional paper-cutting with Alpine silhouettes. The black lacquered body of the pen provides a background to visually highlight the figures. The tip of the cap reveals one of the purest Alpine symbols: a carved edelweiss set in its centre with a brilliant diamond.
