Description
Circa 1950s Yonezawa tin Scandinavian Airlines Douglas DC-7C toy on trigger stand. Constructed of tin, the toy is painted to resemble a Scandinavian Airlines DC-7C. The plane is 2 pieces, the detachable fuselage and the wings, which are secured to a trigger stand. The base of the stand is marked "Douglas DC-7C". When the trigger is pressed, the propellers spin rapidly and the trigger can be locked into position with a steel clasp. The fuselage is marked "E.T.Co / MADE IN JAPAN" and appears to be a joint venture between Yonezawa and E.T. Co ( Tomiyama Shoji). The toy measures approximately 5" tall with a 10 - 1/4" wingspan. CONDITION: The paint is in very good condition with areas of tarnishing which could probably be cleaned. Mechanism functions, as when the trigger is pulled all 4 propellers spin. Slight scratches and small dings noticed throughout. Overall very good. Condition: Dimensions: 9" x 10" x 4 - 3/4".
