Provenance: Gallery label on back reads "Paintings by American Artists, William Macbeth Incorporated, 11 East 57th Street, New York.Canadian Salmon Stream, Ogden Pleissner" The Macbeth gallery was started in 1892, one of the first in the U.S.A. to feature American artists and is known for successfully exhibiting many of Andrew Wyeth's works and other famous American artists - like Pleissner.The gallery closed it's doors in 1953.
