Iron hardware including the handle, the hinges, locking mechanism, and supports near the hinges. Inscribed with possible owner or maker initials, as well as possible date of 1796. Likely German or Dutch.

Condition

The box closes shut, although the hinge of the back is a little loose, so it needs to be minor adjusted to open all the way. One of the legs has been replaced. Some cracks to the lid, but the lid is very stable and solid.
