Seltene frühe Ausführung der schwarz lackierten Leica M4 aus dem ersten Produktionslos von 500 Kameras (1181501 – 1182000), noch graviert mit den frühen Blitzsymbolen auf der Rückseite der Deckkappe. Rückwickelkurbel ganz aus Messing gefertigt und schwarz lackiert, DIN / ASA Merkscheibe und Rahmen der Rückwand, sowie Schrauben in der Zubehörklemme ebenfalls schwarz lackiert. Mit Summicron 1:2/35 mm Nr. 1852190 in schwarz lackierter Ausführung. Deutliche Trübung in der Optik. In Originalverpackung mit passender Nummer.

Diese Kamera wurde von dem schwedischen Fotografen Karl Sandels verwendet. In den 1920er bis 1940er Jahren arbeitete Sandels als Sport- und Pressefotograf. Sein fotografisches Werk umfasste weiterhin die Dokumentation der Stadt Stockholm, in deren Rahmen auch eine bemerkenswerte Portraitserie von König Gustav V von Schweden entstanden ist. Sandels Fotografien wurden vielfach auch international veröffentlicht, unter anderem im LIFE Magazin, dem British Journal of Photography, sowie in Edward Steichens Buch und MOMA-Ausstellung "Family of Man". Fotografien von Karl Sandels sind in der Sammlung des Moderna Museet (Schwedens staatliches Museum für Moderne Kunst) ebenfalls vertreten.

This camera was used by Swedish photographer Karl Sandels. From the 1920s to the 1940s, Sandels worked as a sports and press photographer. His later photographic work also included the documentation of the city of Stockholm, which also included a remarkable series of portraits of King Gustav V of Sweden. Sandel's photographs have also been widely published internationally, including in LIFE Magazine, the British Journal of Photography, and in Edward Steichen's book and MOMA exhibition, “Family of Man”. Photographs by Karl Sandels are also represented in the collection of Moderna Museet (Sweden's state museum of modern art).
