Vintage French Courting Scene Multi-Cameo Drop Necklace, 17", 1930's-1940's. This has three oval french courting scenne drops, domed, that are appx. 1.25" tall and 7/8" wide with 5 filigree oval links (set on their s ide) with white enameled edge and domed wiht a 4.5mm blue bead on top. The chains down the side are made up of the same blue bead alternating with floral designed accents, with the design on both sides. Spring clasp. Brassy gold tone. This is not signed and age is estimated at 1930's-1940's. In researching this, I did find an extremely similar Joan Rivers' one down to the almost exact design however the links between the cameos are not the same, nor do they show the back of the piece. Joan Rivers signs everything I ever saw and this is not signed. The Joan Rivers one was red, not blue and this one dates earlier based on the clasp and the backs of the pieces. I am mentioning this in case you see the same thing I did and think it is Joan Rivers' - I'm not an expert but I do not believe it is and do believe this predates her pieces by several decades. It has typical finish wear on the metal but for its age and design, very good condition. (INV. W1821.3X3 SS6437 J LD 1/21/22).
