Description

Ferdinand A. Busing American Artist WPA Era New York Central Park Ice Skaters, 7 x 11", 13 3/4 x 17 3/4" framed
Ferdinand Busing was born in Brooklyn and came to Staten Island in 1902. Mr. Busing worked as a painter, etcher, newspaper cartoonist and journalist. He was the art manager and artist for the old New York Sun newspaper. Known primarily for his oils, he also worked in watercolor, sculpture and etching and was an illustrator for several magazines. The work of Ferdinand Busing is held in the Staten Island museum, the Amity Arts Foundation and in private collections nationwide.
