A George III giltwood pier mirror, A George III giltwood pier mirror, third quarter of the 18th century, of oval shape, the frame of rococo design, carved with acanthus scrolls, 71cm wide 115cm high Condition Report: Some cracks, losses and repairs to the delicate scroll decoration of the frame. Lacking a surmount, with possible further losses to the upper section and re-carving in these areas to negate the damage. Evidence of professional attention. Cracks, chips, knocks and losses to gilding. Areas of rubbing and wear. Light wear and mottling to plate. Backboard appears replaced. General wear and repair.
