Icart, Louis (French 1888-1950) Color Etching ©1928, Icart's signature is in pencil to the enter edge. Image of a nude woman with flowers in her hair. Marked in plate top center 'copyright 1928 L. Icart Paris'. Blind embossed stamp lower left L I Paris windmill. Framed and matted in a gilt wood foliate scroll frame. Louis Icart (French, 1888–1950) is considered to be a symbol of the 1920's Art Deco movement through his brilliant sketches and prints. Icart’s etchings and paintings, though largely influenced by Impressionists such as Claude Monet, were synonymous with the Art Deco era. His work has been exhibited in shows such as Paresse at RoGallery in Long Island, NY, and the Le Cachet in Binningen, Switzerland. His paintings have also been exhibited all over the world. - artnet.
