Vol.I 266pp; Vol.II 288pp. several engraved portraits in each volume; volume II has two engravings laid in rather than bound and are not mentioned in 'Directions to the Binder.' Bookplate on paste down in both vol. Half morocco leather on marbled boards, very light marbled end papers, gilt top edge. gilt titles, raised bands. 2lbs Junius was the pseudonym of a writer who contributed a series of letters to the Public Advertiser,from 21 January 1769 to 21 January 1772. The Letters of Junius had a definite objective: to inform the public of their historical and constitutional rights and liberties as Englishmen;to highlight where and how the government had infringed upon these rights. Approx.
