Live Steam 2-Inch Scale Shand Mason Horse-Drawn Fire Pump, c. 1985
Maxwell Hemmens Precision Steam Models, England. "York Fire Brigade", finely detailed model, copper boiler with silver solder, all fittings, hoses and nozzles, 2-cylinder engine with cylinder head oiler, eccentric feed pump and stopcock, 2 spoked flywheels, directly coupled water pumps, water tanks, suction and delivery hose, red-and-black-painted chassis and superstructure, wood spoked wheels with metal rims, coal bunker, driver's seat with brass rail at the rear, braking device, bell, 2 lamps and "York Fire Brigade" sign, brass plate with the inscription "Shand Mason & Co, Engineers, London", length 21 ¼ in., width 9 ½ in. - This extremely accurate steam model was made in small series by Maxwell Hemmens, one of the most famous English model engineers. This model has never been fired.
