DESCRIPTION: An antique Sevres raised porcelain oval centerpiece plate with gilt bronze mount. This large oval dish is painted with a Celeste blue rim, and is further embellished with floral polychrome motifs. The central hand-painted scene depicts a pastoral figural scene, with a pair of resting female figures and a male figure playing music with a bagpipe. It is signed "Sures". The gilt bronze legged frame is designed with an ornate motif depicting leafy branches with grapes. The plate is marked at the underside with the Sevres hallmark.

CIRCA: 19th Century, possibly older.
