Two hand-painted boxes, American, 19th C., including: larger with stenciled red rose and leaves with white flourishes on black ground, heavy and ornate brass ring to cover, iron lock, older antique store tag reads "19th C. stenciled box, Baltimore, $495", wear to edges, minor losses, without key, etc., 5 3/4" h. x 12" w. x 6 1/4" d.; and smaller with white rose decoration on black ground with gold colored border of scrolling vine swags, polychrome floral decoration to sides, vibrant green paper interior, missing hook/ lock, wear to finish especially to high areas, interior with fading/ loss, 4" h. x 10 1/4" w. x 5 3/4" d., both pieces with wear consistent with age and use, sold as is.
