This is an authentic silver coin with a denomination of 8 Reales, recovered from the Spanish shipwreck, Nuestra Señora de Atocha.

The silver coin here was salvaged from the wreck site of King Phillip IV’s Tierra Firme Fleet which sank after striking a reef in a raging hurricane near the Florida Keys on September 6, 1622.

This artifact is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from Mel Fisher Family Private Collection.
