The canvas has been relined and the varnish is a little dirty and scuffed. There is a small loss to the right of the hanging birds. The paint surface is a little worn in the background. In strong light it is just possible to see discoloured restoration to the earthenware jar, right, and to the background, far left.
Inspection under ultra-violet light reveals: the aforementioned discoloured restorations; strengthening to the nuts, upper right; restorations throughout the background; retouching to the birds, leaves and fruit; strengthening to the table-top and lower edge; and further scattered restorations and infillings.
