the 6' arched brass dial signed over engraved scrolls and foliage, the Roman numerals framing a minute band with trefoil half-hour markers, with single blued steel hand and alarm setting disc to the centre, the plates united by four knopped pillars, with sliding side covers, the weight driven movement with knife-edge verge escapement sounding the alarm on a bell and T-shaped hammer, now mounted on a shaped wooden wall bracket, 58.5cms high overall including bracket (2)

The brass dial with engraved decoration is well preserved and softly polished. The alarm disc is a possible replacement with the loss of a pointer. The original hand is well preserved. The timepiece with verge escapement and short bob pendulum are in excellent preservation, the escapement with good drops. The alarm is fully operational, the stem of the bell stand is a replacement. The movement has sliding shutters to all four sides, the bracket is commensurate with the movement but highly lacquered. the movement is operational, but may benefit from a sympathetic clean and service.
