the architectural case with broken swan neck pediment on carved composite columns to a stepped moulded plinth, the 8' arched brass dial with subsidiaries for chime/silent, regulation and chime on 8 bells/Westminster over a silvered chapter ring, the substantial triple chain fusee movement with anchor escapement sounding the hours on a large coiled gong and the quarters on a run of eight graduated bells, 59cms high
