Oil on canvas. The canvas has not been lined.
Some minor frame abrasions are visible along the edges and a fine pattern of craquelure lower-right quadrant, not distracting and visible upon close inspection.
Examination under UV light shows a discoloured and old varnish; retouchings along the framing edges relating to areas of frame abrasions and minor losses.
In addition there are several small areas of inpanting to the trees upper-left, further spots of retouchings to lines of craquelure lower-right and there is a repair and retouching to a damaged tear in the centre of the composition above the water. A further retouching to a tear 6 cm. long to the trees upper-centre.
