A Grand Tour Bronze Statue of a Neapolitan Fisherman of Pompeii
late 19th century, patinated cast bronze, attributed to Sabatino De Angelis & Fils (Italy, 1840-1915), after the antique found at Pompeii in the Casa della Fontana Piccolo (House of the Little Fountain) first excavated in 1823 and is now in the Archeological Museum in Naples, the fisherman depicted holding a pail and seated on a shell and coral form plinth with integral Bacchus mask fountain, unsigned.
