DESCRIPTION: (2 Pc) An antique French "A. Risler & Carre" sterling silver matching pair of gravy boats with attached underplate. Designed with a pair of handles with a leaf motif. Marked with "A. Risler & Carrf Paris" hallmark on the underside and the "Minerve casque" french silver hallmarks. In 1897 Andre Risler and his partner Georges Carre opened their shop at the fashionable Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore in Paris. The company offered the finest silverware and exclusive jewelry. Almost instantly the brand gained a strong reputation among the Parisienne elite. In just three years Risler & Carre asserted themselves brilliantly in the luxury market and won a gold medal at the Paris World Exhibition in 1900.
