Description
Great rare sign for the Southern Pacific/ Pacific Electric Railway, Fullerton Line. Route opened in 1917 and was in use until the 1940s. Sign is enamel for Fullerton Junction, connecting through La Habra. Sign measures 12 x 24
The line originally not meant as a passenger service, it was intended for freight between downtown Los Angeles to Fullerton with an extension from La Habra to Fullerton. Pacific Electric lost money, residents didn't like it and petitioned to have it shut down in 1939, but the line did continue to move freight into the late 1940s.
