Description
These great plates are from pottery artist Ellice Johnston (1916-1984). Each piece is hand thrown and hand glazed. All are incised with artist name on back. All measure approx. 7 to 9 wide.
Johnston studied at Chouinard and at USC. Ellice and Dora De Larios co founded Irving Place Studios in Los Angeles in 1968. Then moved to Oregon in 1976, and was part of forming Clayfolk, supporting ceramic artists in Oregon and California.
