"CALIFORNIA MINERS ASSOCIATION 1898" Ribbon & Medallion San Francisco, California Mining Historic Medal
1898-Dated, "California Miners' Association" Silk Ribbon & Gilt-covered Tin Medallion, San Francisco, CA, Manufactured by B. Pasquale & Sons, San Francisco," Choice Extremely Fine.
The Medal is of an American Heraldic Eagle with a shield over its chest and has the California Golden Bear dangling below it. The ribbon has a small 1/2" tear going horizontally towards the center from the lower right edge. On the reverse is a stamp, "Manufactured by B. Pasquale & Sons" as well as their location in San Francisco, which is printed lightly. A rare piece of Western Americana and San Francisco, California area Mining related history. This Impressive Gilt-covered Tin Medal in amazing near-mint condition attached to a Pink Silk Ribbon with the lettering: "CALIFORNIA MINERS ASSOCIATION 1898" in bold gold and navy blue, measuring to 5.25" x 1.5".
