Colonial French & Indian War Era Belt Axe with Handle
c. 1750 Colonial Period from the French and Indian War Era, Wrought-Iron Belt Axe with Handle, Choice Very Fine.
This original belt axe measures about 13.5" long with a 6.75" head, cutting edge of the blade is 4.25". The head is shaped for use as an axe or as a hammer. Wooden handle has an age split, but remains tight in the head. Solid and well crafted with its apparent original wooden handle. Handle is splitting at top where solidly attached to the Iron Axe head, tight and displaying a natural rich patina.
