This authentic original Powder Horn has Hand-Carved Raised Decorated Designs measuring about 12" including the 3.25" copper or brass attached metal tip, no stopper. Extensive raised carving is more difficult and time consuming than simple engraving. This Horn has floral design along with a typical Lancaster style ornately carved wooden end plug. A scarce added metal sling with loop for a strap is attached with small screws. Medium even overall deep chestnut-brown in color, an unobtrusive scattering of small worm holes and chips remaining quite lovely due to the extensive designs.
