Suffragette "ELECTION DAY" Woman's Vote Postcard
1909-Dated, "District Captainess" Suffragette Postcard with Gold Border, Produced by Dunston-Weiler Lithograph Co., Used, Very Fine.
This Suffagette Series No. 7 Postcard, measures about 3.5" x 5.5". Multi-Color image shows a distinguished looking woman walking past her very unhappy husband who's holding their two upset children. She has a "23rd Dist. District Captainess" Silk Ribbon pinned to her dress. Reverse has pencil address and some tone, no stamp. Sign above reads, "What is a Suffragette Without a Suffering Hosehold?" Text at bottom reads, "Election Day".
The Women's Vote Amendment Passed by Congress June 4, 1919, and ratified on August 18, 1920, the 19th amendment granted women the right to vote. The 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution legally guarantees American women the right to vote. Achieving this milestone required a lengthy and difficult struggle, the victory took decades of agitation and protest.
