c. 1834, This rare large Broadside Style Presidential Engraving is titled, "The Presidents of the United States", measuring 25.25" x 19" (by sight), and has been professionally archivally double matted and framed to 33.5" x 27" under Plexiglas. It is printed in medium green and black on white print paper, at bottom reading published by "Humphrey Fields, 338 Bowery, New York."
This impressive Engraving is illustrated with woodcut portraits displayed of each President of the United States from George Washington to Andrew Jackson. A brief text biography accompanies each Presidential portrait. A large patriotic American Eagle with wings spread wide appears above, flanked by the Goddesses of "Liberty" and "Justice."
The final paragraph reads: "The foregoing Sketch of the Lives of the Presidents, with little variation, was copied from the New-York Mirror, a weekly publication of the highest merit, and one that ought to be in the hands of every American Reader." Woodcuts of the Presidents are all sharp, crisp and clear. Overall, bright and clean with excellent eye appeal, meant for display and highly attractive.
