DESCRIPTION: Antique Beast of Gevaudan werewolf slaying kit in a carved beveled burl wood box featuring marquetry floral pattern in a band around a leather surface at the top, hinged lid, and lined at the interior with velvet. Box contains:
(1) Short hunting sword with damascus steel blade etched with foliage designs throughout, a depiction of a cross and script "Gevaudan Commande Pour M Denneval". Sword has a brass hilt with a carved bone handle sculpture of the Beast of Gevaudan. (W: 4.25" X L: 23.12", & Blade L: 18.37").

(1) Flintlock pistol comprising of pommel wrapped by brass with petal designs in relief, inlaid silver tones at the handle in geometric patterns and a depiction of a sword, lock face engraved with foliage designs as well as flintlock, brass trigger guard, inlaid silver at the barrel, brass overlaid at the top of the handle engraved with arch designs, further details of brass at the ramrod sleeve, and ramrod with bone tip. (H: 6.75" X W: 2.25" X L: 20.5").

(2) Brass venom and poison S form flasks with beast form heads at the top and screw lids in the forms of tongues attached by chains with further engraved details of feather and swirl motifs. One with the script "Venom" and the other "Poison". (H: 2.5" X L: 7.25").

(2) Brass boxes one with concentric circles at the lid and containing ball bearings with patches. The other indented with circle and arc designs at the lid containing flint. (H: 1.5" X D: 3").

(1) Brass powder flask engraved at the face with symmetric moon and leaf designs arranged in a circle, with a lid attached by a chain. (H: 7.62" X W: 4.75" X D: 1.25").
