Nine Inuit bird carvings
Including a nesting bird by Allie Tuttu Amittu (Povungnituk, 1926-1983), signed in Roman and with disc number: E9-830; a bird catching a fish by Aisa Qupiraulu Alasua (Povungnituk, 1916-2003), signed with disc number; a preening goose signed in syllabics: Nili Ilaijasiapi; a waterbird with long beak by Tuna Iquliq (Baker Lake/Qamani'tuaq 1935-2015), signed in syllabics; and an unsigned seal-like bird; together with five owls, the first: a Simon Aliqu (Akulivik, b. 1926) perched owl, signed in Roman: Simon, and with partial disc number: 1366; the second: a Pakkak Aola (Arctic Bay, b. 1909) standing owl, signed in Roman and dated: 1974; the third: parent and child owl, signed in syllabics: Oitu, possibly for Simeonie Ohaituk or Jobie Ohaituk; the fourth: a small owl, possibly by Tookikalook Pootoogook (Iqaluit, b. 1943).

Condition
The first five: Good condition overall with a few scattered scratches and scuffs commensurate with age and occasional handling. Seal/bird with some residue/discoloration to beak/nose. Nesting bird with more scattered scratches, abrasions and fleabites. Bird catching fish with seven circular abrasions/bruises to the top of the bird's head and neck.
The owls: Each in good condition overall with a few scattered light scuffs and scratches. The first/largest with more scuffing and fleabites including a shallow chip to the beak and scattered nicking around edges of the base and/or feathers. Mother and child with what appears to be a shallow 1/2in wide inherent flaw on the right side of the mother's face.
