The canvas is lined and appears to retain its original stretchers. The paint surface appears in relatively clean condition. There is frame abrasion visible along the extreme edges. There is widely spaced fine craqulure visible under raking light throughout, most notably in the sky that has been stabilized by the lining. Under ultraviolet light, there appear to be scattered spots of inpainting throughout the sky with an approximately 6 in. x 3 in. area of inpainting at the upper left corner along the edges. There appears to be a small spot of inpainting at center in the water, three small spots on the boats, several pindots at center right, several very small spots at lower center in the water, several very small spots near and along the center left edge, and several small spots at lower left. There appears to be inpainting running along the lower left, lower right, and bottom edges to possibly address paint loss caused by frame abrasion.
