Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Huanghuali Official Suitcase. The box is mounted with ruyi-shaped fittings, lock plate and the upper mate is flat, smooth. The whole supported on flat square foot. The HuangHuaLi wood displays a dense hardwood, with deep-brown strikes over golden-black shades tone and translucent shimmering surface with abstractly figured patterns and sweet fragrance of huali distinguishes it from the similar appearing but pungent-adored hongmu. It is intact, with exquisite mortise-tenon technique.

Over all in EXCELLENT condition, with normal anomalies in nature, natural wood imperfection, sign of stressed surface, minor scratch & dent; Normal consider ages and wears.
