Pair of Coalport Hand-Painted Cabinet Dishes
after 1918, the centers painted with roses or berries surrounded by cobalt with intricate gilt design, signed lower left "F. Chivers." (Frederick Herbert Chivers, 1881-1965)
1 x 9 x 8 in.
Chivers was a skillful painter of fruit and flowers at Royal Worcester, leaving the factory to enlist in 1914. On his return to England in 1918 Chivers approached Coalport.
