This is an original Garrett Ellwood photograph of NBA star Vince Carter during the All-Star Slam Dunk contest on February 12, 2000. 

Vincent Lamar Carter Jr. (1977-) is a former professional basketball player for the NBA. He mainly played shooting guards and small forward positions, but he also played forward force later in his career. Carter earned nicknames such as “Vinsanity," "Air Canada" and "Half Man, Half Awesome” by delighting audiences with his running skills and slam dunks. He is well known as the Greatest Dunker of All time. This photograph shows Carter in the midst of performing a between the legs bounce dunk. He won the 2000 All-Star Slam Dunk Contest performing this dunk along with an array of other impressive feats.


Garrett Ellwood is a prolific professional photographer. He has worked for the NBA and on other major campaigns. His photography has appeared in publications such as Sports Illustrated, Time, Newsweek, Life, and ESPN the Magazine to name a few.
