Description

Theophil Hansen (Danish, 1813-1891) for Stephan Wichers, Vienna. A lathe-turned and polished walnut chair, ca. 1870. With pressed leather upholstery. A similar piece from this series is preserved in the Vienna Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) in Vienna.

Provenance: Dorotheum, Vienna, Austria May 9, 2007, Sale No. 283, Lot 41; From the Estate of Horst Rechelbacher, Osceola, Wisconsin.
