Worcester decoration atelier John Giles (English 1718-1780), first period circa 1760, "Master of the Disevelled Birds" (sic) leaf form porcelain dish decorated with exotic birds surrounded by butterflies, having a paper label to the back reading, "Master of the Disevelled Birds" Marshall Pl.5a", but otherwise apparently unmarked. Approx. h. 1.75", w. 13.75", d. 10".
Condition
Firing and glaze imperfections, minor enamel and gilt loss,underside of foot is rough, no apparent chips, cracks, or restorations when examined under ultraviolet light.
