(2pcs) French Provincial Louis XV style needlepoint bergere, with shell and floral carved top rail, partially padded arms, needlepoint upholstery, seat rail having nailhead accents and rising on cabriole legs; and accompanied by a Cockatoo motif tabouret with a carved floral frame rising on a cabriolet legs on scroll feet, apparently unmarked. Approx. chair h. 37.25", w. 25", d. 19.5"; Footstool h. 16.25", w. 19.5", d. 16".

Chair: back with areas of pulled threads to needlework with losses to arm pads and scattered repairs to seat, area of loss to rear upholstery panel - right side, chip to right arm support stable cracks to lower back rail, wear to feet, frame is structurally sound. Footstool: darkening to fabric, evidence of previous worming (inactive), no apparent restorations, frame is structurally sound.
