Elvis Presley's Pages From Personal Physician's Desk Reference Acquired From Personal Cook Pauline Nicholson W/LOA - This lot is two pages (front and back) from Elvis Presley's personal copy of the Physicians' Desk Reference book. Despite his busy schedule as one of the most popular entertainers of the 1960s and 1970s, Elvis read often and has a particular interest in medical matters. According to a 1962 interview with Elvis, "I keep up with modern medicine, medical science, medical discoveries, and different diseases. Nobody knows that. And I've been doing it for a long time, you know. I get doctors handbooks, the PDR, which is the Physicians Desk Reference, things like that, and it's pretty interesting." This lot includes pages 2015-2018 of the reference book, obtained from Elvis' personal cook and housekeeper, Pauline Nicholson. Nicholson met Elvis Presley in the mid-1960s and worked for the Presley even after his death. She was one of Elvis' personal cooks and housekeeper, and also watched after Elvis' daughter Lisa Marie at times. This lot includes a photocopy of an original letter of provenance from Pauline Nicholson discussing Elvis' Physicians Desk Reference book.
