Elvis Presley Framed 1974 Kenpo Karate Gold ID Badge #28/100 - This is a gold finished wallet sized ID card commissioned by Ed Parker and Dave Hebler in the early 1970s. Elvis Presley received and carried one of these gold cards in his wallet every time he received a new ranking from Chairman of the Board Ed Parker. Elvis began his lifelong fascination with martial arts while stationed in Germany, and primarily studied Chinese based Kenpo with Ed Parker, and Korean based Pasaryu with Kang Rhee. Elvis would become proud with each new ranking and would excitedly boast to everyone, including his fans while performing in concert. Elvis' bodyguard Dave Hebler had 100 of these cards created for Elvis to give out to family and friends, however Elvis was promoted to 9th degree black belt within the year and was no longer interested in giving these lower-ranking cards out. This card was obtained directly from Dave Hebler and has been professionally matted and framed with a certificate of rank from the Tennessee Karate Institute, photo of Elvis and Kang Rhee, and an information plaque which is numbered 2/100.
