Signed book, 186 pp, Anyone Can Whistle Collector's Edition by Arthur Laurents with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, n.p., ca. 1974. Signed "Stephen Sondheim" on front end page in black felt tip pen. Accompanied by Beckett LOA. Light tearing to top edge of dust jacket with sound binding throughout. Some soiling is present above the signature, otherwise boldly signed. Condition is good. 

Stephen Sondheim (1930-2021) is lauded as one of the theater's most influential composer-lyricists, having written the lyrics for West Side Story (1957) and Gypsy (1959) at the start of his career. His other best known works include Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (1979), Sunday in the Park with George (1984), and Into the Woods (1987). The first production of Anyone Can Whistle debuted on Broadway in 1964, and featured British actress Angela Lansbury as the lead alongside co-stars Lee Remick and Harry Guardino.
