Description
Circa 8th-12th century A.D. A mixed group of bronze trade weights comprising: one cuboidal with geometric motifs to each face; one squat, decagonal weight bearing a cruciform motif to both principal faces, with pellets to the centre and perimeter; a polygonal weight with facetted medial band, quincunx of ring-and-dot motifs to both circular faces, pairs of ring-and-dot motifs punched to each of nine facetted faces. 65.5 grams total, 14-19 mm (1/2 - 3/4 in.).
