The item belongs to a particular category of votive plaques, cut out of a thin sheet of metal, further defined by a repoussé pattern-work in the shape of a leaf or a feather. They were widespread in the Roman Empire, including Britain, often also displaying an image of a deity or an inscription dedicating the plaque to a certain divinity. [No Reserve]
