Two signed pieces of early 19th C. schoolgirl calligraphy, framed, details include: first a fragment signed "Sarah Cotton" and dated 1819, pen exercise with hearts, birds, etc., inscription at bottom, some loss to upper right corner and other edges, numerous tears, etc., ss: 7 1/2" h. x 12" w.; and second entitled "The Crucifixion of Christ", by Emeline Spear of the Quincy School, Philadelphia, dated 1820, toning, tears, staining, etc., ss: 8 5/8" h. x 10 5/8" w., both pieces sold as found.
