Oxbow four drawer chest, c. 1780, central Connecticut, cherry, pine secondary, oxbow conforming top with scratch bead on top and bottom edges, Chippendale style brasses and escutcheons on graduated drawers with blocked ends, scratch beads and straight inside edge with deep pockets for screw posts, quarter round base molding above ogee bracket feet with oxbow conforming returns constructed with "quadrant," mortice and tenon supports, wear as follows: case refinished, brasses replaced, backboards old and reduced in thickness, drawers project forward, feet, quadrants glue blocks and rear supports all original., 35" h. x 38 ¾" w. x 20" d [Verbal Provenance: Purchased from Joel Einhorn in 2000] [PLEASE BRING APPROPRIATE ASSISTANCE AND VEHICLE, AS GALLERY STAFF CANNOT ASSIST WITH MOVING LARGER/HEAVIER PIECES AFTER PURCHASE]
